Bhutan, a country that presents unity

Hi Mindu,

I'm now back home and can share some feedback with you.

We had a wonderful experience in Bhutan and are very happy with the itinerary and accommodation in general. We want to express our special gratitude to our guide Kuenzang and driver Nidup who did an excellent job in making our trip comfortable and enjoyable. They are very responsive to our needs and requests in customizing the trip, and making arrangements when we were not happy with the hotel. We think Bhutan is a very unique country that presents a unity between people, nature and religion. Because of all these, we consider the Bhutan trip topped all of our previous trips before, even we have traveled to so many places in different parts of the world. So a big THANK YOU to Druk Asia in making this happen. We will highly recommend this trip to our friends, and also Druk Asia's service. If we ever come back to Bhutan, which is very likely, we hope to work with Druk Asia again.

The only complaint we had during the trip is about Metta Resort, the hotel we were supposed to stay in our last stop in Paro. It is listed as a 4-star hotel but we found the experience worse than the other 3-star hotels we stayed during the trip. Problems with Metta include:

1. Rundown facilities:
- The water heater is too small to last even for one person for the shower. My friend ran into cold water in the middle of the shower, and had to rush to finish. As a result, she had a bad headache for the whole day.
- The shower sink was stuck: it happened to both rooms we stayed, a symptom of bad maintenance
- Wifi is only available in the reception area, and it doesn't work for 3 of us when we were there. This shouldn't be the case for a 4-star hotel.

2. Poor food:
Although the owner claims the hotel has very good food esp. for Asian travelers, we found the quality of food/cooking quite poor, and the selection of food very limited for both dinner and breakfast.

3. Unfriendly hotel staff
- They are not willing to serve/help. They didn't greet you when we ran into each other, nor willing to serve during meals. We had to run to get coffee/tea/dining wares ourselves.
- When my friend tried to get WiFi from the reception at night, the staff told her the reception is closed at 10pm. As a result, she was left outside the reception, got badly bitten by the mosquito while still failed to get connected.

Because we were so disappointed about Metta, we decided to change hotel the next day and were very happy with Tenzinling, which saved us from a ruined last stop.

So while we will highly recommend Druk Asia to our friends, we will strongly advise them to stay away from Metta. We also hope Druk Asia to seriously review your relationship with Metta in order to avoid ruining your reputations.
