Fortunate to experience festivals in Bhutan

Hi Sonam,

Great to hear from you again :) I thought I may need some time to write this feedback. Thanks for your patience. I had a really truly memorable trip. Your country, Bhutan, is really beautiful.

Firstly, I'm very thankful and happy to have been assigned Tobgay as my guide. He has made our trip a very memorable and enjoyable one. Tobgay is definitely a tough and capable guy! - I was surprised that he serves as our driver on top of our guide.

Tobgay is a very dependable guide to be with and took very good care of us girls. I felt really safe and secure with him around. I remembered when I invited him to join us for dinner during the first few days of the trip, he accepted it politely. (After which I realized other guides have already called it a day with their guests). He never fail to remember our dietary preference and always reminded the kitchen, way before we reached the destination.

As I spent my 11 days with Tobgay, I realized he is a very much driven and motivated person. He is focused and attentive during our long road journey despite the fact that he had to drive for long hours on windy mountainous roads. He has a good command of English and is very knowledgeable in Bhutanese culture, history and religion. Tobgay is always very patient and well prepared to answer my questions and satisfy my curiosity. I have certainly learnt and seen a lot from this trip with his guidance. As days passed by, I observed that Tobgay is a very much respected and well-like senior figure amongst his friends and colleagues. He is humorous with a little mischief, but with that he always managed to lighten the atmosphere and brighten up the day. A man with a great personality!

As for the itinerary, we are really fortunate to have experience the Thimphu Tshechu and the Tangbi Mani festival as we happened to travel during the festival month. We love the scenic hikes and the beautiful dzongs and monasteries. We love the organic veg and fruits and the fluffy red rice. The people we met are all so friendly and polite. Along the way, we also have made friends with other Druk Asia guides and drivers who were hosting other Singaporeans who happened to have the same itinerary as us. All of us had a very memorable and fun time together. Thanks to Norbu, KP (guides), Tenzin and Rinchen (drivers) too. We miss one another after we return to Singapore.

Lastly, I am very glad that I made it to Bhutan with Druk Asia. I must say this is one of my best trips to-date. Bhutan is such a beautiful country with many interesting sights, rich culture and nice people. A number of my friends is curious and interested about Bhutan after seeing my photos. Druk Asia will surely be my choice of recommendation. I miss everything about Bhutan and I would love to return to Bhutan again in future.
