Druk Air signed memorandum of understanding for new A319 fitted with Sharklets

Druk Air has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a new Airbus A319 with Sharklets. Sharklets is a the name used by Airbus on wing potrusion technology that is expected to cust down fuel consumption by 3.5 to 7 percent, or a reduction of 700 tonnes CO2 released annually.

 

The new A319 is expected to enter service in 2015 and will serve the the new Singapore Paro route that is expected to begin in September 2012. The new A319 will complement the other 2 A319 that Druk Air is already operating. A319 is currently the biggest aircraft serving Paro airport.
