I went on a solo trip from 11-17 Dec'16 and the itinerary covers Thimpu, Punakha & Paro. I had an awesome time in Bhutan so much that, I regretted going for the 7 Days 6 Nights tour instead of a longer trip.
Throughout the trip, my guide (Namgay Toto Tenzin) paid extra attention to me. Perhaps, I was a lady solo traveler so it calls for more care. Truly appreciate the gesture of my guide. The guide also took the effort to adjust my itinerary according to my pace. On some days, most of the places are covered before 3pm and Namgay will ask if there are other places that I would like to visit. In fact, on day 1, the mountainous road condition was a little difficult for me to manage. Seeing that I was unwell, the guide advised me to take the front seat and the driver also went on a much slower speed to make me more comfortable. Though travelling time was longer, I was grateful for their thoughtfulness. So, from Day 2 onwards till the end of the trip, I took the front seat and was able to enjoy my tour till the day I left Bhutan. Besides that, my guide is also very knowledgeable too. From him, I've learnt a lot on the history of Bhutan, the different fortress & temples, people and culture. Bhutan is such a beautiful place. I am simply in love with the spectacular and scenic views of Bhutan. On the 3rd day, I was also blessed to attend the Dochula Pass Festival. Of all, the locals are really friendly and happy people.
The Hotel Lobesa I stayed in Punakha brought me out of my mind. Besides the beautiful paddy field & Mountain View I can enjoy right from the window in my room, the owner & staff offered extremely good services that made me feel at home and comfortable.
It was the best vacation for me till date. Thankful for the great experience in Bhutan!
