A wonderful 10 days experience in Bhutan

Dear Sangay,

We are back from our 10 day trip to Bhutan and it was a wonderful experience. Our guide Mr. Tobgay was fantastic and we were very happy with the service provided by him. He made sure that my husband got lactose free vegetarian food everywhere. But there were a few things we were extremely unhappy about. They are listed below:

1. Vehicle - I had raised this issue with you in an email on Mar 21st (email attached) and you did not even respond to the email. I was extremely disappointed with that. We had paid for a MPV, a driver and a guide. But from day 2, we had SUV and Tobgay had to work as a driver and guide. This is extremely poor service. The back seat of the SUV was crammed and there was hardly any place with all our luggage. Mr Tobgay tried his best to adjust and fit in but it was hard. The roads are so bad in Bhutan and travelling for 10 - 12 hrs in crammed conditions is no picnic. I expect a REFUND on that front.

2. I had mentioned to you that my husband was vegetarian and lactose intolerant. I had requested you to inform the airline. But airline had no information on that front. On our way out, he got vegetarian food but with cheese. They had no information on his dietary restrictions they said. On our way back by the time they reached our seat they had completely run out vegetarian options. Finally the air hostess managed to get something from business class. I want to know why the airline was not informed about the dietary restrictions.

3. In Bumthang we stayed at Jakar Lodge. I remember requesting you to put us up at Jakar Lodge. But it is not a good place at all. The people who run the lodge are good but they cannot cope with a large crowd. They almost fully occupied when we visited and they could not cope with it. We had serious issues with hot water and water pressure. It was quite an uncomfortable stay. Please do not offer this place as an option to other guests.
