This magical land is a prime example of how to show off the best of what the country has to offer while balancing local development and sustainability in every way. If you are looking to visit a country that hasn’t been completely overrun with tourists, then you need to add Bhutan to your bucket list. I can wholeheartedly say that it is entirely different from any other country I’ve ever traveled to.

The Petite Wanderess
Are you a city person? The kind that needs hot showers, clean rooms, and food that won’t cause too much tummy problems? Well, I am. Before I went Bhutan for my first time, I had difficulty finding answers to my ‘first-world concerns‘ about how it’ll be like to go Bhutan.

Globotreks
Nestled in the Himalayas, the Kingdom of Bhutan is one of the most stunning destinations that few travelers make it to due to its location, cost, or travel logistics. The Boho Chica
Tucked away on the eastern part of the Great Himalayan Range between Tibet, an autonomous region of China and the Indian states of Sikkim, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, is the kingdom of Bhutan, known locally as Druk Yul, or ‘Land of the Thunder Dragon’. Often referred to as the world’s ‘last Shangri-La’, Bhutan wears its deep-rooted cultural identity with pride while taking a careful, nuanced approach to embracing modernization. With a rich cultural heritage, spectacular landscapes, warm, kind-hearted people, and a palpable sense of spiritual energy permeating through the land, Bhutan is an immensely rewarding destination for travelers who dare to venture beyond the usual in search of something deeper.

Where You're Between
Bhutan is a mystical land, which is no surprise for a country that calls itself the Land of the Thunder Dragon. Bhutan’s history is almost inseparable from Buddhist folklore, which in turn has helped to shape the country’s stunning landscape. Colossal fortresses and monasteries – dedicated to ancient monks believed to have flown on the backs of tigers – tower over Bhutan’s spectacular mountain peaks, forests, and crystal clear rivers.

The Luxury Travel Expert
The fairytale, mystical Kingdom of Bhutan is world-famous for measuring Gross National Happiness, an index which is used to measure the collective happiness and well-being of a population. Bhutan is a spectacular, unspoilt country steeped in ancient traditions and with a history that is as tall as its Himalayan mountain peaks. It’s a country where mystical Buddhism thrives, archery is the national sport, almost everyone wears national dress, and traffic lights are absent. The Kingdom is on top of many travelers’ bucket lists (and for good reason), yet is tricky to visit (more on that below).
