I got in touch with Druk Asia about six months ago to plan our Bhutan trip to celebrate a dear friend’s 50th birthday with a group of us. Dema reached out to me and from then on she was our single point of contact. She guided us through the entire process, ensuring the trip was planned and executed seamlessly.
Dema is highly knowledgeable, patient, polite, and incredibly responsive. She curated a perfect itinerary based on the time we had, worked within our budget and booked some wonderful properties for our stay, especially the Taj properties in Gangtey and Paro which were the highlight of our stay. She also arranged comfortable transport for our group of 11, ensured all meals were included while accommodating our dietary preferences and handled flight bookings and permits with ease. Despite a few last minute cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances, everything was managed smoothly.
One of the best parts of our trip was being assigned an excellent guide, Dorji. He was courteous, knowledgeable, caring, friendly and very intuitive to our group’s needs. He blended in effortlessly with us and made the experience even more enjoyable. Dorji is also an excellent photographer, always happy to help us capture some beautiful moments of the group when asked for. When we spontaneously decided to go river rafting, Dorji quickly arranged it by making slight adjustments to our itinerary, which we all enjoyed and was a great experience.
The highlight of our trip was the hike to Tiger’s Nest. We were very fortunate to have a beautiful day. The hike started with slightly rainy and cloudy weather but later cleared up making the experience even more special. The hike is definitely challenging but acclimatising beforehand as suggested by Dema really helped. It’s not an easy trek but with a reasonable level of fitness it is absolutely doable. Dorji managed our group which had varying fitness levels with great care and encouragement ensuring everyone felt comfortable and supported throughout.
Bhutan is a stunning Himalayan country, we completely fell in love with its people, culture, spirituality, monasteries, dzongs and food. We returned with full hearts and memories that will last a lifetime.
I would highly recommend Druk Asia to anyone planning a trip to Bhutan. They truly deliver a seamless and memorable experience.
