We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Bhutan

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Bhutan. It truly is a stunningly beautiful country and made even more accessible by our SoulTrip guide, Yeshey and our driver Leki. Yeshey must be the best guide in Bhutan! She knows everyone and that made for an extra special experience. At every place we visited Yeshey was able to provide background and context and we certainly made the most of her knowledge and experience. She organised a number of different activities- including hot stone baths and white water rafting (both a must) as well as visits to the popular tourist sites- including the seated Buddha overlooking Thimpu, seeing the takin and yaks, the black necked cranes, the 108 stupas and of course the trek up to the Tiger’s Nest monastery which was a wonderful experience. In addition we visited a number of Dzongs and temples. And being with Yeshey meant that we could talk to local people about their own experiences. Yeshey took us for some amazing meals in every place we visited and the hotels we stayed in were lovely- albeit often very different. If you get to visit the Dharma Siddhi hotel do take it. Incredible views, wonderful hospitality, rooms and food. We can’t thank Yeshey and Leki enough for making our trip such a memorable experience- and despite having returned to the UK we are still keeping in contact. We cannot recommend SoulTrips any more highly and we were so smitten we now want to return to see Central Bhutan. Amanda, Lynnee and Gray
