Metta is owned by a local Bhutanese man who is married to a Chinese wife from Malaysia. Besides cooking Bhutanese and Western cuisine, its kitchen has been trained to cook Chinese cuisine. Travellers from South East Asia would be interested to know they can order Bah Kut Teh, a Chinese delicacy, from the kitchen at their expense.
This is the only hotel in Bhutan, which have installed electric blankets in the winter. Travellers can also rent foot massage from the owner.
Metta is probably the highest rated hotel among all the 3-stars hotel in Bhutan. The warmth of owners' hospitality consistently won the heart of our guests. It has been gaining popularity among travellers from Asia in the past few years. Given its popularity and a limited number of rooms, Metta is only working with four major agencies in Bhutan, Druk Asia being one of the main anchor agency. This is also necessary as it has proven rather difficult to collect payment from smaller agencies.
