Meet Your Host: Passang
My name is Passang, and along with my family, I’m delighted to welcome you into our home. We began hosting guests in 2010 with support from the Royal Society for Protection of Nature (RSPN), later earning certification from the Tourism Council of Bhutan for our commitment to quality and sustainability. We see every guest as a chance to share our way of life—from stories of the valley to warm home-cooked meals—and we hope your stay feels less like visiting and more like coming home.
A Countryside Retreat Close to Nature
Situated just a five-minute walk from the Black-Necked Crane Information Centre and only a ten-minute drive from the enchanting Gangtey Nature Trail, Passang Zam Homestay is the perfect base for nature lovers and birdwatchers. With three cosy rooms accommodating six to eight guests, the homestay feels wonderfully intimate and welcoming.
Traditional Flavours and Village Life
Every meal here is a family affair—prepared with care and shared around the table. You’ll enjoy hearty Bhutanese fare rich in rice, potatoes, eggs, and local vegetables like dried turnip leaves, carrots, and radish. You’re always welcome to dine with us and even lend a hand in the kitchen—or out in the fields.
Unwind with a Traditional Hot Stone Bath
After a day exploring the valley, there’s nothing more soothing than a traditional hot stone bath. Heated river stones are nestled into herbal water, releasing their therapeutic warmth—an authentic Bhutanese ritual that’s both relaxing and restorative.
Hospitality Rooted in Community and Conservation
Since its founding, Passang Zam Homestay has upheld a deep respect for both community and environment. Our homestay remains committed to preserving the rich natural heritage of Gangtey Valley, and in doing so, offers guests a genuine connection to Bhutan’s cultural and ecological heart.
