A very lovely and memorable experience in Bhutan

Dear Sonam,

I had a very lovely and memorable experience in the Land of the Thunder Dragon! It is definitely a place to visit at least once in one's lifetime. Bhutan is beautiful beyond words, the people all so friendly and obliging and the food is awesome too (especially ema datshi - it's such a pity that there's no Bhutanese restaurant in Singapore yet!) It's not even been a week since my return and I am missing it already - I will be planning for another visit with my husband soon, and I will definitely sign up with Druk Asia again, for you guys provide such impeccable service right from the very start! (Thank you Sonam too, for being so patient and thorough in answering all my queries.)

As a first-time solo traveller, my guide, Kuenzang Dhendup and driver, Karma made me feel at ease. Kuenzang is a very knowledgable and experienced guide. I truly appreciate his clear and detailed explanation of Bhutanese history and culture at the various sites of interest. It was certainly interesting to hear about the story of Buddha too. I had wanted to buy a kira. Kuenzang was very accommodating to my request and brought me to a shop in Paro town to purchase one.

I must also commend Karma for his superb driving skills. He knows the highways like the back of his hand and I notice that he is also a very careful driver, sounding the horn whenever we are approaching a bend. He knew that I was scared and constantly reassured me that he would drive safely. Karma also has a sense of humor, cracking jokes ever so often, making the long car journeys so much more pleasant.

My most enjoyable meals were the ones at the farmhouse. Authentic Bhutanese food with hospitable hosts - an absolutely amazing experience! Thank you Kuenzang and Karma for being so obliging too, for initiating an impromptu Bhutanese-Singaporean ktv session on my very last night. It was yet another highlight of my trip!

Bhutan, I am so in awe of your beauty and I will certainly visit you again!
