Fallen in love with Bhutan beautiful pristine scenery

Dear Sonam,

Chew Wee and I are back from our Bhutan trip!

Many thanks for a wonderful trip - we both left Bhutan with a heavy heart as we have fallen in love with her beautiful pristine scenery of lush green forests and majestic mountains, the warmth of the Bhutanese people and the magical spiritual quality of the Buddhist faith.

We can't thank our guide Namgay Tshering and our driver Namgay (Wangdu?) enough. They took very good care of us and made us feel very safe throughout the whole trip. We also had the opportunity to get to know other Druk Asia guides along the way, such as Chencho Bull and Nobu (?). It was great to witness the amazing camaraderie amongst the Druk Asia guides - it was clear that they are professionals yet love their work with a passion and are still able to have fun at the same time.

Wanted to also suggest a few ideas for consideration for future travelers on a similar 7D6N itinerary:

1) Power plugs. We found that the international travel adapters which we had brought to Bhutan were not compatible with most of the power points in the hotels (no 2 round pin option available). Perhaps it might be useful to loan each group (esp those traveling from Singapore) with a compatible travel adapter/ power plug at the start of the trip? One or two of the hotels had a multi socket adapter compatible with the 3-flat pin plugs for Singapore, which was very useful and appreciated indeed.

2) Gangtey. While we admired Gangtey's tranquil scenery, as the main attraction of black neck cranes was only available in October, it was a fairly boring stop for us to be honest. In addition, wifi connectivity in Gangtey was limited, and we were not able to even entertain ourselves with surfing the internet or using WhatsApp. Also, the ride to Gangtey was fairly long and bumpy, making for an uncomfortable 2 hour ride from Punakha. Perhaps Druk Asia could consider extending the stay in Punakha to 2 days from the current 1 day, and skip Gangtey during the off-peak season for the black necked cranes?

Overall, this Bhutan trip was still the trip of a lifetime, so thanks again Sonam for helping to make it happen!
