Our trip to Bhutan was excellent; scenery was beautiful
Dear Sonam,
Our trip to Bhutan was excellent. Our guide was knowledgeable, and the driver was skilful. We were very pleased with both of those gentlemen. The mountain driving was perhaps the least enjoyable part of the trip, but even so the scenery was beautiful and we had plenty of tea breaks. All of the hotels were very good with the exception of the Gangtey Palace in Paro. The internet was not working at the Gangtey Palace; they did not provide bottled water; and the room and hallways needed a good cleaning top to bottom. We very much enjoyed the dzongs, temples and museums, and the culture and history of Bhutan in general. We also liked watching archery and the farmers' markets in Thimphu and Paro.
I have a website with over 5,000 photos from many trips, including Bhutan:

We were happy with the food both at the hotels (breakfast and dinner) and restaurants (lunch). The vegetables were uniformly fresh and tasty. The chicken was usually very good, though the beef and pork were often chewy. I don't care about the meat -- I was very happy just having vegetables. I took photos of many of the meals -- a PDF is attached.
We were pleased with DrukAir. Our flights were on time, the planes modern and clean, and the meals good.
Thank you for your help in organising a great trip.
