The great opportunity to know Bhutan
Hi Sonam,
It was a great trip overall. From arrangements with local agency to actual tour & itinerary, support given and email replies have been prompt and helpful :) I thought you've arranged for us a very knowledgeable yet humble guide whose proficiency in English language command helped us understand and appreciate Bhutan a lot better. Accommodations were better than what I've expected, of which I enjoyed Hotel Lobesa the most as it provided a great view from our bedroom.
Some suggestions (from a tourist point of view :)): - We've arranged with our guide (on a last minute note) to walk a village after a short hike and we were unexpectedly given the opportunity to visit a local's family. they served us tea and we interacted briefly with the children. We also took a short tour around the house. I thought it was a good compliment to the visit to the local museum (which showed us the Bhutanese traditional lifestyle) as it showed us the 'real' living of local people. It might be good to include this (and maybe replaced one of the Dzongs visit - we visited 2 in total and missed 1) and make it as part of the itinerary.
- Just another idea that I thought of is if there were cooking classes that tourists can attend to learn some local dishes. Chilli cheese was something I tasted for the first time in Bhutan. The cooking classes can be grouped together with the visit to the local market so that interested parties can buy ingredients home should they like.
Really appreciate the opportunity to know Bhutan on a closer note and it is definitely a beauty.
Hope everything is well for Bhutan & the great people of Bhutan.
Thank you.
With Regards,
Wendy Wong
