Happiness is Forever in Our Hearts
Dearest Sangay,
Kuzuzangpola! We just had our most wonderful & memorable trip of a lifetime in Bhutan!
Happiness is indeed a place. A place filled with fresh air, picturesque landscape/ scenery and the warmest & friendliest people.
We were awestruck by the beauty of Bhutan and the happiness, sincerity, simplicity & hospitality of the Bhutanese. Their friendly greetings & smiles brighten our days. Warm butter tea (suja) with homemade cookies welcome us with open arms. We love the food too.
Being a vegetarian, Bhutan is a heaven to us! The fresh & delicious vegetables, chilli cheese (ema datsi), cheese momo are simply awesome. We also tasted Bumthang's speciality - buckwheat noodles as well as other home cooked dishes which were specially prepared for us when we visited our guide's friend house.
Besides visiting the places of interest, we also had two bonus highlights in the trip. One was the chance to receive blessings from the chief abbot of Cheri Monastery whom we met along the way in Thimphu. The second is to meet the Queen's mother who was the guest of honor of the first Buddhist film festival held in Bhutan. We watched the premiere of the film festival - Yangsi Rinpoche, together with her and other VIPs including Matthieu Ricard (renowned Buddhist monk and author) and Mark Elliot (director).
Last but not least, we sincerely thanked our excellent guide & driver- Kuenzang & Leki who accompanied us for the whole trip. Everyday is filled with laughter & joy with them around. The Bhutanese music that they played made the long and sometimes bumpy journey more enjoyable. Now my hp ringtone is changed to the Bhutanese song that we love most throughout this trip! Haha.
Happiness is forever in our hearts and we will definitely visit Bhutan again. Do keep us in the loop for any latest promotion/news.
Kadincheyla!
