Travel in comfort to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital, and check in to your luxury hotel. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll around Thimphu town to soak in its local charm.

Accommodation: The Capital Hotel (4*)

Day 2

Mountain Pass & Riverside Grandeur | THIMPHU — PUNAKHA

Set off early and ascend to the scenic Dochula Pass, adorned with 108 chortens and panoramic Himalayan views. Continue to the warm valleys of Punakha. On the way, take a short countryside walk to Chimi Lhakhang, the famed Fertility Temple. After lunch, explore the majestic Punakha Dzong, dramatically situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. End your day with a stroll across the Pho Chhu Suspension Bridge, one of Bhutan’s longest.

Accommodation: COMO Uma Punakha (5*)

Day 3

Temples, Villages & Valley Charms | PUNAKHA

Begin the morning with a hike through the rice terraces to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a temple built for world peace. Visit the hilltop Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Lhakhang, known for its panoramic views and female monastic community. Then, take a slow walk through Ritsha Village, often called the “rice bowl of Bhutan,” and enjoy a special farmhouse lunch with a local family.

Accommodation: COMO Uma Punakha (5*)

Day 4

Into the Hidden Valleys | PUNAKHA — GANGTEY

Wind your way through forested mountain roads to the breathtaking Gangtey Valley, a glacial paradise home to the endangered black-necked cranes. Visit the Crane Information Centre to learn about these graceful winter visitors. Enjoy the scenic Gangtey Nature Trail, a leisurely walk through pine forests and meadows. Later, step into a traditional home for tea and tales with a local family. Your day ends with a quiet visit to Gangtey Gompa, one of Bhutan’s oldest monasteries.

Accommodation: Taj Gangtey Resort & Spa (5*)

Day 5

Return to the Heart | GANGTEY — PARO

Journey back westward to Paro, where history and spirituality meet. After checking in, try your hand at archery and khuru (darts)—Bhutan’s national sports—guided by locals. We had book a 7D6N private tour to explore Bhutan. We had a warm welcome by our Guide (Jigme Zangpo) and Driver (Thinley Dorji). Thru’ out our stay, we were well taken care by both of them and they had went beyond their roles to help us with whatever request that could be fulfilled within their means. Jigme is very knowledgeable on the history and we had learned a lot from him about Bhutan. The Driver Dorji had make us feel so comfortable thru’ out the journey and we were impressed by humour and seating in his car always feel so secure. Thanks again on bringing us to explore Bhutan.

We had a wonderful tour of Bhutan thanks to our guide Yongko Dorji and our driver Ugyen. They were very polite and professional and took a personal interest in making sure our trip was outstanding. Yongko is very knowledgeable and patiently answered all our questions. We learned so much about the culture of Bhutan and about Buddhism. Ugyen is an excellent driver and also a guide. We also want to thank Sangay for working with us on our itinerary and last minute changes. SoulTrips truly made this a memorable trip.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience during the four days we spent visiting Bhutan. Our guide, Chencho Lham, and our driver, Namgay Thaye, did everything possible to make sure we enjoyed every moment of the trip. We visited incredible places, had time to explore the cities on our own, and even shared a fun moment together playing darts. The highlight of the trip was definitely the hike to Tiger’s Nest — a perfect combination of physical challenge, moments for reflection, and breathtaking landscapes. Bhutan is an incredible country, with a unique culture and extremely kind people. We learned a lot during the journey and would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to explore a less-visited destination that still has so much to teach.
