Aum Choden Homestay is a humble 108 year-old two-storey traditional Bhutanese house located in Paro. At Aum Choden Homestay, you get to experience a traditional setting with a Bhutanese family and experience the Bhutanese customs in warm local hospitality. Aum Choden Homestay has a rustic charm that will allow you a glimpse of the traditional Bhutanese way of life and leave you feeling in awe with their sense of community vitality. Some of the traditional activities that you can do at Aum Choden Homestay include:

  • Archery
  • Dart games
  • Wearing of Bhutanese traditional costumes – Goh & Kira
  • Demonstration of Bhutanese cooking
  • Medicinal hot-stone bath

One of the most traditional experience that Bhutan has to offer is definitely soaking in a hot stone bath in wooden tub. The stones are fire-roasted and plunged into the wooden bath, releasing minerals and heating the water. The hot stone bath is also believed to have healing properties for joint pains, hypertension, stomachache and arthristis. You’ll definitely enjoy Aum Choden Homestay if you are a fan of traditional experiences and enjoy immersing yourself in local cultures.
