Drukair is set to launch pilot charter flights to Tokyo, Japan, starting in August. These flights will operate via Bangkok and Taipei, catering to Japanese tourists, with the possibility of selling seats to local passengers. If successful, this initiative could become an annual event, though regular scheduled services are not planned at the moment.

On 29 Aug 2011, Bhutan’s Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore signed an air services agreement (ASA) to establish air links between both countries. The agreement will allow national airline, Drukair and upcoming private airline, Tashi Air, the rights.
