The main purpose of this 10-day journey was to embark on a pilgrimage to Guru Padmasambhava. In recent years, I’ve traveled less, having grown weary of constant trips. Yet, this visit to Bhutan was a spontaneous decision. Looking back, everything unfolded perfectly—especially since the final day of my trip coincided with the annual opening of Guru Rinpoche’s meditation cave. What incredible luck!

Sangay took care of my booking from start to finish. He was very responsive with my queries and assigned a great local tour company (Soultrips) to organise my holiday in Bhutan. One minor improvement - Hotel Lobesa in Punakha needs to fix/upgrade their shower pressure and hot water system. I was having 4 min showers before the water went cold. Please pass this feedback on to your hotel suppliers. Rest was fantastic.

Our itinerary was a lovely mix of different and intriguing things, and thanks to Bijay we were able to add in a few extra visits. For example, Simon read about a tree planting scheme in the Druk Air magazine during the flight, and decided he would like to do this himself. Bijay made a series of phone calls to fix this up, and we managed to fit it in during our stay in Paro. He also took us to see the Red Panda brewery and adjacent cheese factory, both of which were very interesting, and he arranged both a delightful rafting trip down the river in Punakha and a hot stone bath in Paro.

Bhutan has always been a dream destination and you and your team (special shout out and thanks to Ugyen Dema, our wonderful guide Tshewang Dema and our steady and safe driver Sonam Penjor). Very clear and well organized right from the first contact to the send off at the airport. Only thing we would request you to change is the hotel at Thimpu - we were the only guests at the Khang Residency and many of the amenities were not working. Certainly does not merit a 3-Star rating. Besides great personality, he is a well of knowledge about the country and Buddhism who made a visit to every temple and dzong memorable. My cousin and I had a memorable trip to Bhutan from 30 March to 5 April, organized by SoulTrips. Everything was seamless, thanks to our travel agent Sangay Dorji who was responsive and helpful.We were warmly welcomed by our guide Yongko (Kinley) and driver Sonam at the airport. When my cousin experienced motion sickness on day one, they were thoughtful and made adjustments to help her feel better. Yongko was knowledgeable, passionate, and added a great sense of humor to the trip, while Sonam drove us safely through the winding roads.
